Most women who have decided on bust enhancement surgery are so excited about the results that they do not realize they will have to go through a period of recovery before they can look the way that they have always dreamed about. Most can’t wait to get out of the operating room and buy a new bikini. This, however, is far from the truth. When you have a breast augmentation procedure done, you have to invest some serious time in allowing your body to heal. This is because you have had an operation done, and the body needs to recover from what it considers to be an intrusion. Here are two things you should certainly expect during your recovery period.
Fatigue
One of the things that surprises most women is how tired they feel after surgery. During the actual procedure, you will be given anesthesia, and it can take a day or so to get all of the anesthesia out of your body. It’s not unusual to feel a bit more tired than usual, and you may want to sleep. That is okay. Women who sleep more actually are able to heal better and faster. Once the anesthesia has worn off you may still feel exhausted, and you might even want to nap fairly frequently. Again, feel free to do so. Sleeping is a great way for your body to heal. Keep in mind that your pain meds may also make you feel sleepy at times, and that too is quite normal.
Pain
There is always going to be pain associated with any serious medical procedure, including cosmetic surgery. In the case of breast augmentation, most surgeons do everything that they can in order to minimize the pain as much as possible, but it’s going to hurt to some degree, especially if you’ve gone from a small size to a larger size. This is because the body has been stretched, and it is trying to adjust to your new size. Your incision site will also hurt and can be quite painful for awhile. If your doctor gives you medications, it is a good idea to take them, as this will help you to relax and to heal faster without stress.
Recovering from this type of cosmetic enhancement can take some time, but if you relax and allow your body the time that it needs to heal, you will be able to go out and to buy that new bikini faster than you think.
