Problems

The breast has been one of the most worshipped and beloved symbols of sexuality and femininity for as long as modern man has walked the face of the earth, so it is no surprise that many women and their partners are concerned about a possible loss of sensitivity once breast augmentation surgery has taken place. We all know what a central roll the breast plays in most of our intimate lives and the idea of a surgery that is meant to enhance that role destroying it instead is simply too terrible to imagine. Here are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to sensitivity, your breast augmentation risks.

First, it is very important to let yourself heal completely before evaluating if you have lost, or even gained in some cases, sensitivity. You may be able to be on your feet and back to work within a week of having surgery but you can’t really gauge how your breasts are going to feel until you are completely healed and that often takes up to six weeks. If you have experienced breast augmentation complications, you may need additional surgeries to fix the problem which would delay your healing even farther.

Once you have fully healed, you can then judge how your breasts feel. If you feel that a travesty has been committed and you have lost a good portion of your sensitivity or if you feel that your surgery was done in error or that you are not pleased with the softness of your implants, sit down with your surgeon first and see if the problem can be fixed. All too often in our society, many people jump and run to the lawyer’s office when an amicable settlement could be had between patient and doctor. Remember, a plastic surgeon is only as good as his or her reputation. In most cases, your surgeon is going to be more than willing to work with you to correct any problems you may have.

Breast augmentation problems related to sensitivity can be made worse by things like infections or other problems that delay healing. Your doctor will also tell you if there were any problems related to nerves having to be cut or milk ducts that were damaged during surgery. These things seldom happen, but you have the right to know if they do.

You can learn more about how surgical breast enlargement may change your sensitivity when you talk to your general practitioner and your OB/GYN as well as your plastic surgeon. You can also consider the wide array of non surgical options that are available in the form of all natural pills, creams and gums. An informed choice when it comes to modifying your body is a wise one.
